Jeon Sung-hyun, who joined LG, carefully introduced the picture he drew.
Changwon LG announced the news of the ‘squad reorganization’ through a press release on the 4th. The team sent out Lee Jae-do (Goyang Sono), Lee Kwan-hee (Wonju DB), and Lee Seung-woo (Ulsan Hyundai Mobis) and acquired Jeon Sung-hyun (189 cm, F), Doo Kyung-min (183 cm, G), and Choi Jin-soo (202 cm, F) via trade.
The roster also saw a major overhaul, with outside free agent Heo Il-young and KBL returnee Jang Kook-guk joining LG. The trade of Lee Jae-do-Jeong-hyun attracted the most attention. It was called the 현금홀덤사이트 “biggest deal of all time” and attracted the attention of fans.
Jeon joined Anyang KGC (now Jungkwanjang) with the seventh overall pick in the 2013 Korean Rookie Draft and has averaged 9.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 0.6 steals, including 2.1 three-pointers, in 22 minutes and 41 seconds per game in 399 career games.
His career 3-pointers made (841) ranks 13th all-time, including retired players, and his 3-point field goal percentage (38.5%, 841/2183) ranks 17th all-time among players with at least 300 games played.
Only four players in the all-time record books have made more 3-pointers than Jeon and at a higher percentage: Shin Ki-sung (42.8%, 903/2108), Woo Ji-won (40.1%, 1116/2782), Moon Moon-eun (39.5%, 1669/4226), and Kim Byung-chul (39.1%, 1043/2665). This is why Jeon is considered the best shooter in the game.
His career-high season was 17.6 points, 2.6 assists, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals, including 3.4 3-pointers, in 31.49 minutes per game in 50 games in 2022-2023. In 2023-2024, he was limited to 11.8 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 0.5 steals on 2.5 3-pointers in 29.28 minutes per game in 30 regular-season games due to a back injury. He also shot a disappointing 32.9% (76-of-231) from three-point range.
“First of all, I would like to apologize to the Goyang fans, and I would like to say good luck to the Changwon fans. I know that (Lee) Jae-do was a great player in Changwon. I know they’re upset that he’s gone, but I’m going to do my best to be as good as he was. Changwon is a very popular basketball city. Every time I went there as a player for another team, I could feel the passion of the fans. I want to work hard and live up to their expectations,” he said.
“As a player on the other team, I was often surprised by the tactics of coach Cho Sang-hyun. Personally, I’m looking forward to it as a shooter, and I’m going to learn a lot,” he said.
When asked about his back condition, which he suffered last season, he said, “I’m working out a little bit. It was a little bit distracting because of the trade, but I’m working my way back up. My back was fine (last season).”
LG has more than half of its roster filled with new faces. Jeon also talked about his chemistry with his teammates. “Personally, I find Asem Marei attractive. I know Daryl Monroe is coming as the second option. I’ve played with him, and he’s a very good player,” he said.
He added: “I’m thinking about playing with (Yu) Ki-sang on either side of him as a double-header. The center of it will probably be (Du) Kyung-min, who will be the field commander and we’ll work together, so I’m expecting a lot from him. I don’t worry about the seniors who are older than us, such as (Choi) Jin-soo, (Heo) Il-young, and (Jang) Min-gook. I’ve heard that the juniors are also very hardworking and good. As long as me and Kyungmin do well, we’ll be able to get the grades we want,” he said, adding that he feels responsible.
Finally, Jeon Sung-hyun said, “Grades are the most important thing for a professional. I’ll prove it with my performance rather than words,” and added, ”I’m very happy, but I think Sono fans and LG fans must feel bad. Now that I’m part of the Changwon family, I’ll repay them with good performance. I would appreciate your patience and support. I hope you will support the new players and love them,” he said.
