‘Figure General’ Kim Ye-rim (20, Dankook University) will participate in the first International Skating Union (ISU) Figure Skating Grand Prix of this season.

Ye-rim Kim will compete in the women’s single short program of the ‘Cup of China’, the 4th competition of the ISU Figure Skating Senior Grand Prix of the 2023-2024 season, held in Chongqing, China on the 10th.

Yerim Kim, entering her fifth senior season, had her best season last year. He participated in 9 international competitions (including the World Team Trophy in team competition) in the 2022-2023 season and won 7 medals. 먹튀검증사이트

In particular, she won the 5th Grand Prix held in Sapporo, Japan in November last year. She became the first Korean athlete to win a gold medal at the NHK Trophy.

Kim Ye-rim, who won the silver medal in the third competition, the French Grand Prix, reached the top of the NHK Trophy and also advanced to the ‘King of Kings’ finals. It was a great achievement 13 years after Yuna Kim (33).

Last January, she became the first Korean female figure skater to win a bronze medal at the Winter Universiade, and in February, she won her silver medal at the ISU Four Continents Championships.

She had her best season and continued her unstoppable momentum, but in March she finished only 18th at the World Championships. Kim Ye-rim’s upward trend was halted after she performed her worst performance in her most important competition. However, she bounced back in April in the team event, the World Team Trophy, helping South Korea win a silver medal.

Kim Ye-rim, who is in her prime at the age of 20, won the Finlandia Trophy, an ISU challenger competition, last month. He began reviewing the new program ahead of the ISU Grand Prix, and although he made some mistakes, he showed a stable performance and won his 4th ISU Challenger gold medal.

In this Cup of China Women’s Singles, Kim Ye-rim competes with Luna Hendrix (Belgium) for the championship. Hendrix, who won silver and bronze medals at her last year’s and this year’s World Championships respectively, won her first Grand Prix event this season at Skate America.

Her personal best score is higher than that of Hendrix (221.28 points: 2023 Grand Prix 1st Skate America) over Kim Ye-rim (213.97 points: 2022 Finlandia Trophy). If Kim Ye-rim reaches the podium at both this competition and the NHK Trophy held on the 24th, there is a high possibility that she will advance to the finals for the second year in a row.

Meanwhile, Lee Si-hyung (22, Korea University) will compete in the men’s singles. The men’s singles short program will also be held on the 10th.
