The situation for badminton men’s doubles pair Seo Seung-jae and Kang Min-hyuk (World No. 4, Samsung Life Insurance) ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics is much different than it was at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games last year.
Seo Seung-jae and Kang Min-hyuk had their hopes raised by topping the World Individual Championships a month before the Asian Games.
It had been nine years since South Korea won the men’s doubles title in 2014.
However, in their last international competition before the Paris Olympics, they suffered a series of setbacks.
They were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Singapore Open on March 31 and lost in the first round of 32 at the Indonesia Open on March 4.
It was the fifth straight tournament in which she failed to reach the final after winning the Indian Open in January.
